Shayla Hayward-Lundy,

Shayla is a board-certified, licensed art therapist with specialized expertise in chronic stress, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and severe mental illness. She integrates training in yoga, mindfulness, and brain injury care to deliver holistic, whole-person treatment. Shayla holds a Master's in Counseling & Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School and is completing her doctorate in Counseling at Regent University.
Shayla works exclusively with nonprofits and healthcare organizations. She offers clinical groups that integrate creative expression with therapeutic dialogue to support clients experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, trauma, and/or substance use. She also facilitates non-clinical workshops that use guided art-making to promote wellness, resilience, team building, and creative problem-solving.
Beyond her clinical practice, Shayla brings extensive nonprofit experience in development and program management, helping mission-driven organizations translate compelling visions into sustainable, lasting impact. She holds a gubernatorial appointment to Virginia's Advisory Board on Art Therapy, serves on the board of directors of The Art Therapy Project, and actively volunteers with organizations throughout Hampton Roads, VA. Across all of these roles, Shayla is passionate about advancing mental health and medical programs that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
